February Instagram Styles

I am slightly obsessed with Instagram. (If you have Instagram leave a comment with your @, would love to follow some new awesome accounts). I love photography and so I thought I would create a series where I look back at the month and show you a few photos I took over the month and talk you through the creative process behind them. This month has all about me trying to figure out and master my Instagram colour scheme and ‘aesthetic’. I really want my to grow my account and I want people who come across my page to see a consistent and clear theme that is cool but to be unique and personal to me. There are sooo many photography Instagram’s online, a lot which have thousands of followers BUT a lot also seem to copy each other. The most successful are the ones that have a unique style of photography.

So that was the challenge for this month. I want to be known as an awesome photographer with high quality images, different to everyone else but still cool and relatable… daunting but I love a challenge

So the way I decided to make myself unique is through the layout on my page, I have talked in my last INSTAGRAM STYLES blog about how I do this on photoshop. I decided to basically just continue that this month

Yellow is officially my colour, I love how it pops and makes the page stand out. I decided my colour scheme should be yellow, blue, blacks and greens? If I’m completely honest I’m still figuring this part out. I’m not quite 100% happy with the colour scheme on my Instagram, I feel like its missing something that I cant quite put my finger on. Maybe I’m being too critical of myself but it’s definitely something I want to work on

One thing that has definitely helped this month, is organising consistent photoshoots. I made sure to do at least one photoshoot each week with hundreds of photos that I narrowed down to 2 sets of 3 that I posted twice a week. This has made my life so much more organised and allowed me to experiment with new creative shoots. Shout out to all the friends that have volunteered to let me practice on them.
